Is Abortion My Only Option If I Don’t Have Any Money?

When money is already tight, a positive pregnancy test can quickly bring financial worries to the surface. You may be thinking about rent, groceries, childcare, healthcare, or how you could afford everything a baby needs.

Those concerns can be stressful, but they don’t necessarily mean abortion is your only option. The Pregnancy Center of Coshocton can help you look at your circumstances and identify resources that may make another path feel more manageable.

Schedule an appointment today to meet with us and discuss your specific needs.

What Support Is Available if I Parent?

If finances are one of the main reasons parenting seems impossible, it’s worth finding out what assistance you may qualify for before ruling it out.

The Pregnancy Center of Coshocton can connect you with local resources for needs such as food, housing, financial assistance, childcare, and healthcare referrals. Programs like WIC can also provide nutritional education, breastfeeding support, and healthcare referrals.

If you’re in school, pregnancy doesn’t mean you have to give up your education, either. Title IX provides protections for pregnant and parenting students at schools covered by the law.

Prepare for Parenting

The center also offers free parenting and life skills classes covering subjects such as pregnancy and birth, the first year, toddlers, co-parenting, healthy relationships, and life skills.

These classes can help you prepare and answer any questions you have. Better yet, completing short video courses earns you points to use in our boutique.

Depending on availability, you can redeem those points for items such as diapers, wipes, formula, maternity and baby clothing, blankets, toys, cribs, and other baby furniture. This gives you a way to build both your parenting knowledge and your supply of everyday necessities.

What if I Don’t Want to Parent?

Parenting isn’t the only alternative to abortion. You can also learn about adoption.

Modern adoption allows you to have a say in your adoption plan, including choosing an adoptive family and considering the type of future contact you would like. We can provide referrals to reputable adoption agencies where you can receive detailed information about the process and ask more specific questions.

Learning about adoption doesn’t commit you to making an adoption plan, but it does give you another option to consider.
