If a person ever told you they were fully prepared for parenthood, they lied. No one is ever ready for parenting, no matter how many books they’ve read or podcasts they’ve listened to. Every child is unique, and so is every parenting experience, but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible.
What About Parenting?
If you’ve considered parenting but are afraid you don’t have what it takes, now is the time to ask those questions. Here are a few you might want to consider:
• Do I have the support of my partner or parents to raise my child?
• Am I financially capable of parenting?
• Can I finish my education or continue my career if I become a parent?
• Will I have the physical and emotional support of others?
• How can I get medical insurance, childcare, transportation, etc.?
Did You Know Assistance Is Available?

There are also several services available to you here in Coshocton. State assistance with food, rent, finances, childcare, etc., is also available.
Parenting In School
Staying in school while pregnant is essential for a better future for you and your child. According to Title IX, you cannot be discriminated against in school if you are pregnant or parenting. Talk with school officials to ensure your rights.
